My Favorite Fall Cacao Recipe

Updated: Nov 16, 2023

Morning time is my absolute favorite time of the day. There's magic to be found in the quiet and calm of a morning. I enjoy the feeling that the natural world is coming out of its slumber, and that the energy of everything is still so grounded before the day has fully powered up.

The last few months I've incorporated cacao ceremonies into my morning routine. After spending some sunrises in Australia with a dear sister of mine, I've been very much ignited by cacao in the morning. The cacao I make is ceremonial grade from Sacred Earth. I love this cacao. It's strong and it's properties for me truly help me center into a more soft, creative vibration. I invite you to give cacao a try in a ceremonial way. To create a space in your home where you can sit comfortably, with intention, and explore the energetics of this plant medicine. For any tips on how to create your own ceremony, please contact me. I'd love to help.

For a creamy, dreamy and glorious way to prepare a cup of cacao, here is my recipe.

Ingredients

2-4 tablespoons of ceremonial grade cacao

1 teaspoon of coconut oil

Pinch of himalayan salt

Dash of cayenne

Few dashes of cinnamon

Tablespoon of maca

2 dates

Plant milk (your choice in how much to use) 1 cup'ish of hot water Preparation

In the cup you wish to drink from, fill the cup 1/2 full with hot water. Water should have been to a boiling point and then have had a few minutes to cool down (boiling changes the properties of cacao).

Add chopped cacao to the cup, stir it until melted into a paste. Add paste + 1/4 more hot water & 1/4 of the cup of plant milk to a blender. Add the remaining ingredients Blend to liquify dates and create a foamy and creamy consistency Taste to see if you'd like to add an extra dash of cayenne for spice Set intention. Open your heart. Drink in gratitude and prayer. With love.
